R for graduate students successful

The statistical gap will be no more!

The launch of the first ever R for graduate students’ training workshop was held today the 6th September, 2017 at the Senate Building, Makerere University.  The Directors of EASI, including Prof. Fabian Nabugoomu, Dr. Ronald Wesonga and Dr. Abraham Owino launched one of the activities by revealing that EASI is the bridge between training institutions and the Bureaux of Statistics within the East African region, Africa and the world at large.

The launch was blessed by the participation of graduate students, some of whom are currently practicing statistics. Among the participants were; Joseph, Andrew, Joan, Joseph and Frank who assisted facilitation. The workshop first covered topics on data, statistics and computing, then followed by statistical computing using R. Followup training workshops will be held to demonstrate statistical methodologies and computing for statistical practitioners, students, researchers, trainers and planners in the region.

Watch this space for the incoming international conference in statistics.
